The Courier Magazines
The Westbury-on-Trym Courier was founded in 1994 with the Henleaze & District edition following on a year later. Stoke Bishop area followed and the first edition was published in April 2006 in fact......Each magazine is distributed FREE to over 5000 households in the area and is a balanced mix of editorial and advertising, so that the magazine tends to be read and kept (often by the phone) rather than being thrown away as a leaflet or flier often is; some publications contain in our view too many adverts which makes it less likely to be read or kept. Advertising is supported by editorial and articles from and by local people; a very popular £25 prize crossword is a feature of each issue, often together with other prize competitions with regular contributions from local experts in their field. Unlike monthly publications, the Courier offers an extended life for advertisers....our research shows that the Courier is kept for the whole three months, whereas by the nature of monthly publications they are kept for just a few weeks before being thrown out. In addition we strive to keep a 50-50 balance between articles and ads.

All plus VAT. Discounts available for advertising in two or more Couriers. e.g. take out an ad in all three publications and earn a 25% discount!
‘Small Ads’ are available (at the beginning of the magazine) and these cost £35 + VAT per year for one edition, £55 + VAT for two editions.and £70 + VAT for three editions.
In addition, we have full colour covers which are often booked up well in advance – but it’s always worth asking! These start from around £194.00.....All ads are full colour in all magazines at NO EXTRA CHARGE. No charge is made for artwork or alterations to artwork for advertisements.

Features
Sometimes regular advertisers are invited to provide a short (say 300 words) generic article about the services they provide. Although this should not be treated as a free advertisement or indeed an extension of a paid-for ad, it can extil the virtues of, say, a particular treatment for a beauty salon or maybe a short precis on learning a new language written by a provider of language course. All such articles are subject to available space and editing and are at all times at the discretion of the editor.
Other contributions are welcome in the form of reminiscenses, historical facts and so on pertaining to the area, plus photographs if appropriate. We also welcome news on forthcoming events, amateur dramatic groups, societies and so on. No charge is made for any local information submitted and published, but please note that deadlines apply to all contributions, not just advertising.
